What is led module?
An LED module is the small sealed unit of one to four diodes with a lens, chained in strings inside channel letters and sign cabinets as the modern replacement for neon and fluorescent.
Modules stick or screw into the letter can at a spacing the manufacturer specifies for the return depth — closer for shallow letters, wider for deep ones. Strings run to a low-voltage power supply, sized with headroom over the total module wattage.
Estimating rule: module count follows lit area and stroke width, supply count follows total wattage. Retrofits from fluorescent to LED are their own discipline — the light is more directional, and faces that lit evenly on tubes can band on modules.
