August 2026

Shopify

• New orders from a connected Shopify store land on your production board automatically as sales orders, with line items, quantities, shipping and discounts carried across.
• Fixed a fault in the install flow that sent merchants to a login screen instead of starting the connection. Installing from Shopify now begins immediately, with no PrinterFlo account needed first.
• Orders still arrive correctly when Shopify withholds customer details pending app review, and each customer stays a separate record rather than collapsing into one.

Pricing and products

• Setup fees now fold into the item price by default, with a per-product choice to show them as their own line instead. Requested by a shop who was tired of explaining a separate charge to customers.
• Base price × options as a pricing structure, for products priced per piece rather than by area — and a base rate expressed as cost × markup, so changing your margin doesn't mean recalculating every price.
• Products are edited in a modal rather than a separate page, with every field labelled and options built into the same screen.
• The quote configurator warns you when a selected option has no rate set, instead of quietly quoting zero.

The board

• Substrates and tags are now separate things. Attributes describe what a job is made of; tags are the checklist your team ticks off. Mixing them meant material choices showed up as tasks nobody could complete.
• Stuck jobs get a Waiting note that flags the hold-up without moving the card off the stage it's really on.
• Filter the jobs list by product, not just by stage or tag.
• Tag history: who marked each one done, shown on hover.
• Cancelled jobs are hidden from the board by default.

Getting started

• A one-click sample order on first run, so a new shop sees the whole engine working before entering any of their own data.
• Empty screens now explain what goes there and how to add the first one.
• A design pass across the whole app: consistent spacing, type and colour.

Privacy and security

• Data deletion requests are carried out properly and evidenced — the person is erased while the order stays in your books, which is what the law actually requires of both of us.
• Retention periods for stored data are now defined and enforced automatically.
• Access to customer data through our public API is logged, and you can read your own access log.

The document model

• Quotes, Sales Orders and Invoices are now distinct documents. A quote becomes a sales order when it's approved, and an invoice when the work is done. Job numbers are permanent and never reused.
• Orders are cancelled, never deleted — so your numbering and your history stay intact.
• Printable PDFs for quotes, work orders and invoices, with your terms, PO number and business details on them.

Line-item production

• Every item on an order is its own card on the board, with its own status — because a ten-item order isn't one job, and treating it as one hides where the work actually is.
• Per-item proof upload and per-item customer approval, controlled by a "requires art approval" setting on each product.
• Cross-assignable to-dos, so anyone can add something to anyone's list.
• Stage automations: when an order enters a stage, act — email the customer, move it on, notify someone.

Quoting

• Size × options configurator in the quote builder.
• Receipt-style breakdown showing every option priced individually before the total, so a customer questioning a number can see exactly where it came from.
• Structured billing and shipping addresses, with "same as billing".
• Tax rate as a shop setting, rather than something read everywhere and set nowhere.

Web-to-print

• A template-locked design tool your customers use in the browser, with a print-ready PDF pipeline including two-sided cards.
• A starter library of professional templates across several style registers.

Integrations and money

• Void an invoice in PrinterFlo and it voids in QuickBooks too.
• Public REST API with per-shop keys, plus a Zapier integration.
• Follow-up sequences that chase quotes nobody has accepted yet.
• Artwork preflight on upload — resolution, colour space, bleed and fonts.
• Import wizard for shops moving off shopVOX.

Community

• Shop Talk launched — a forum for print and sign people, free and open to everyone, whether or not you use PrinterFlo.
