What is channel letter?
A channel letter is a three-dimensional, individually fabricated letter — a metal return wall with a face, usually internally lit with LEDs — the standard for storefront identity signs.
Each letter is its own little lightbox: an aluminum return bent to the letter's outline, a back, LED modules inside, and an acrylic face held on by trim cap. They mount raceway-, wireway- or flush-to-wall, and most municipal sign codes treat them as the default commercial sign type.
Pricing them is geometry: return depth and perimeter set the metal and bending, face area sets the acrylic, and perimeter again sets the trim cap and LED count. That's why two same-height letters can cost very differently — an E has far more perimeter than an I.
