Perforated Window Film

Printed graphic outside, view out from inside. The effect is real and it disappears the moment the lights come on indoors.

Also called	One way vision, 60/40 perf, see through graphics
Thickness	Sold by pattern rather than thickness. 60/40 is standard, 70/30 gives a brighter image and less view out, 50/50 the reverse.
Outdoor life	Three to five years laminated. The holes, not the film, decide how it ages.

Ballpark trade cost per square foot as of August 2026, before laminate, labour or markup. Films are bought by the roll and the per foot price moves a lot with roll width and volume, so treat these as a sanity check rather than a quote.

What it actually is

Vinyl punched with a regular pattern of small holes, commonly around 1/6 in. A 60/40 film is 60 percent printable surface and 40 percent hole, which is the usual architectural choice.

→ Office glazing where staff still need daylight and a view
→ Covering an unattractive interior while keeping the glass usable

What to watch for

The one way effect depends entirely on which side is brighter. At night with interior lights on it reverses, and passers by see straight in. Tell the customer before they discover it, especially on a bar or a gym.

It needs an optically clear CAST overlaminate, applied properly. Skip the laminate and the holes fill with dirt and rain until the graphic looks grey and the view out is gone.

It goes on the OUTSIDE of the glass. Applied inside, the adhesive is visible through the holes and the effect fails.

Do not apply it over glass that is already tinted or low E without checking. Trapped heat between film and coating can stress the glass, and some glazing warranties exclude it.

Printing and finishing

Print with the pattern in mind, since fine detail and small text disappear into the holes. Solid colour and large type read well, photographic detail does not.
