What is wayfinding?
Wayfinding is the system of directional, identification and regulatory signs that moves people through a building or campus — designed and sold as a coordinated program rather than individual signs.
A wayfinding package spans exterior directionals, room IDs, directories, and code-required elements, all on one design language. It's spreadsheet work as much as sign work: message schedules, location plans, sign type schedules — often dozens of types and hundreds of units on one job.
Accessibility code drives much of it: tactile and braille room signage with mounting-height and contrast rules is a regulatory requirement, not a style choice. For shops, wayfinding is high-value project work where the organized bidder beats the cheap one.
