What is monument sign?
A monument sign is a freestanding ground-level sign with a solid base — the low, permanent structure at entrances to plazas, campuses and subdivisions.
Unlike a pylon on poles, a monument reads as architecture: masonry, foam-and-hardcoat, or fabricated aluminum bases with panel or lit cabinet faces, often multi-tenant. Codes love them — many municipalities push monument over pylon in their sign bylaws — and they usually need engineering, footings and permits.
For shops, monuments are project work rather than production work: site survey, locates before digging, concrete, electrical runs. The sign itself can be the easy half.
