What is wet application?
Also called: Application fluid, app fluid
Wet application means spraying a soapy solution onto the substrate before laying vinyl, so the graphic can be slid into position before the adhesive grabs.
The fluid keeps the adhesive from biting instantly, buying time to position large or fussy graphics — especially on glass, where placement is unforgiving. Squeegee the fluid out, let it flash off, and the bond completes.
It is the wrong answer more often than beginners think: modern air-release films are designed to go down dry and slide poorly when wet, fluid trapped under vinyl in cold weather can freeze or slow the bond for days, and wet-applying over a fresh paint or a wall graphic is how edges lift. Use it for flat glass and calendered film; go dry everywhere air-release film makes it possible.
