What is registration marks?
Registration marks are the printed reference squares or crosses a cutter's optical eye reads to align its cut path exactly with a printed graphic.
In print-and-cut, the printer lays the marks around the artwork; the plotter finds them and maps the cut file onto the physical print, correcting for skew and scale. Everything between design software and finished sticker depends on that handshake.
Misreads come from predictable places: glossy overlaminate bouncing the sensor's light, marks printed too close to the media edge, and media that stretched or shrank between printing and cutting (laminate then cut the same day, or expect drift).
